Fishing

With the River North Esk running through our grounds, there is plenty of opportunity to go fishing at The Burn. Our best fishing kicks off around mid-March, though for braver anglers you can still land a fish in February and early March, with the game fishing season running from middle of February to the end of October.

We have Atlantic salmon, grilse and sea trout running through our rivers, with high numbers of fish, some reaching more than 20lbs, present every season. Fishing permits can be purchased at The Burn which reduces in cost during the summer but increase in price as autumn approaches and the salmon run. To view prices please visit our FishPal page.

With The Burn’s wonderful estate acting as a backdrop to your fishing trip, we are confident you’ll have a tranquil and successful stay. Three cooked meals a day are included in the price of your accommodation and there is plenty else to do in the homely atmosphere of the house or around The Burn’s beautiful grounds.

We offer competitive prices throughout the year and look forward to hearing from you. If you have any other queries or to make a booking please contact us by phone: +44 1356 648 281 or by email: burn@goodenough.ac.uk.
